Physics is taught by four specialists and is deliberately practical: the Rocket Club launch, the annual telescope evening and the Sixth Form engineering project are as much a part of the course as the examinations.
A Level Physics numbers have doubled in five years. Pupils regularly progress to Physics, Engineering and Natural Sciences degrees, and the department runs a popular Astronomy GCSE as an extra option.
